One of my favourite spots to experience as i drive around New Zealand. it is an alive and vibrant small citywith its basis being a university town. Lots to do here. In the city there are plenty of very good cafes and restaurants plus a visit to either the Cadbury World Chocolate Factory and/or the Speights Ale House Brewery Tour.
Then it is out to the Peninsula to visit the Royal Albatross Colony and take the time to go out along the eastern coastline beaches. Perhaps you can see the little Yellow-eyed penguins coming home after a long day at sea............
