Day 10 – 2 Jan - Thursday - 
(Christchurch flight 10:10am. Arrival at 11:30) Picked up the Jucy car for our South island adventure.....

​​​​​​​​​​​​**Visit Antarctic Centre - This is one of my favourites and on my not to be missed list when visiting New Zealand. You will get to see what is happening in the Antarctic plus visit their little blue penguins....


​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​then we are off to the world of the Mackenzie Country with the Southern Alps dominating the scene to the west and beautiful glacial lakes with fabulous wild flowers (lupins) growing along the roads and in the fields.

** Tekapo Springs where we can relax in the pools and try out the new Trippo.... Another very special place to stop and enjoy. (It was great!!!!)

and on to Glentanner Holiday Park for two nights....

Day 11 – 3 Jan – Friday – Mt Cook - here is the blog
Off to Mt Cook and Lake Pukaki and going out on the boat to the glacier.
**(Glacier Explorers) Hermitage 11am - a boat ride to the glacier on a glacial lake
**Glentanner Mt Cook horse trek 4pm - if you want to do a horse trek in New Zealand this is the one
(Hit a massive storm that came through and was unable to do the above).
Hung out at Glentanner Park and the Hermitage Resort....​​

Day 12 – 4 Jan – Sat – Here is the blogOmarama
**On to Omarama for a salmon lunch (after catching it) at Ladybird Hill restaurant in Omarama - WOW!!
Will have to go back here.............often!!!!       check out the video we took
**plus you can go gliding in the gliding capital of the world
**and see the display of Xena the warrior TV show at Totara Peak Gallery
**and perhaps a soak in the Hot Pools.....​​​​
**A stop at Vanished World in Duntroon - see a 25 million year old shark-toothed dolphin fossil and much more...here is the article I wrote - click here

Then definitely one of my favourite places to visit (Iiked it so much I moved here!)​​ - Oamaru Blog 
 **Oamaru and a tour of the town's Historic Precinct
**Steam Punk - You won't believe what you find here. Fabulous!!!
**Tour of the breeding colony at the Little Blue Penguin Colony - one of New Zealand's top wildlife visits
and be there to watch the mamas and papas come home from a day at sea to feed the babies anxiously awaiting………..(one of my favourite things to do)
​**South to see the Moeraki Boulders
** Visited my favourite restaurant owner, Fleur, at Fleur’s Place
**then the seals at their southern colony (Shag Point)


Day 13 – 5 Jan - Sunday – Dunedin blog 
**visit the Cadbury Chocolate Factory
**Albatross Colony and the beaches of the Otago Peninsula.............
Staying at the Scenic Hotel downtown - great hotel at a great price..............

Day 14 – 6 Jan - a drive on the Southern Route via the Catlins...... photo blog
turn ​right at Balclutha and enter into the world of the Catlins with windswept shorelines, isolated beaches, great cafes, waterfalls and a petrified forest lying on the edge of the ocean.
One of the most isolated places in New Zealand the Catlins, then on to Invercargill and
to the very end at Bluff. From there along the southern coast​ to Riverton for a stop and
on to a special spot, Cozy Nook and on to Gemstone Beach​ then north with the Fjords
dominating the scenery and on to Te Anau to rest up for the big day tomorrow....the
Jucy Cruize into Milford Sound....​​

​​Day 15 - 7 Jan – the Fjords blog 
**Jucy Milford Cruise - a must visit and cruise when visiting New Zealand
** stay at the Great Views Holiday Park  - this park gets my top approval...10 out of 10!!!

D​ay 16/17 – 8/9 Jan – Queenstown blog
Staying at the
Creeksyde Top Ten Holiday  Park- the only place I stay in Queenstown

Day 19 – 11 Jan – Hokitika and Arthurs Pass blog 
Visit - Hokitika, Pukekura and on to Christchurch via Arthur's Pass
I took Rachel downtown Christchurch to have a look at what the earthquake had left and how three year's later it is still a city feeling the impact....................​
