Come with us in the wonderful world of New Zealand -
                              The bucket list of adventure

                                            Oamaru
Oamaru is a very special place and a major spot to visit when visiting New Zealand with outstanding historical buildings created by the beautiful Oamaru limestone when the area was flourishing with gold and agricutural in the late 1800's.
In the outlying area you can discover a magical world of beautiful farm estates such as the Totara Estate.
The impact today is focused on Oamaru's Historical Precinct that is slowly being occupied by the many residents who are offering fabulous shops, cafes and restaurants along with a whiskey distillery and a beer brewery.............Maybe you visit will coincide with the Historical Victorian Festival as an added bonus to your visit.
If you are an old train buff this is the spot plus the penny farthing bicycle................
One of the major draw cards for everyone is the Little Blue Penguin Colony on the south edge of the town and the harbour.
South of town are the Moeraki Boulders and please don't miss going to the fishing village of Moeraki and having a meal at Fleur's....one of New Zealand's top restaurants and quite funky.......she is a treat and a fabulous person by the way............get her book!
Now for some photos I have taken of the above..................

First just walking/driving through the town you will see this...........

then we have the Historical Precinct............
and let's not forget the Steampunk...............
